A patient may come in thinking they have a hormone problem because of fatigue, irregular cycles, weight changes, low mood, poor sleep, or stubborn acne. Then the conversation turns to bloating, constipation, reflux, food reactions, or a history of antibiotics. That is often where the bigger picture starts to come into focus. Can gut issues affect hormones? Yes - and in many cases, the relationship goes both ways.

The gut is not just a digestive tube.
